Case Study: Pop Art Style Rebrand for a Vibrant Social Media Marketer
Lisa from The Minute Maker had been in business for almost 7 years when she reached out to me about rebranding her social media marketing agency. She loved the work she was doing with the small businesses of Dorking in Surrey, but felt very lacklustre about her own marketing. Her branding felt vague, confusing and not very ‘Lisa’, and this was putting her off from shouting about her business online.
Despite being a well-established business, Lisa had never invested in her branding or website design before, and was unsure what to expect from the process. Like most small business owners, she was concerned that handing over her brand design to someone else would make it feel less like her own personal brand.
Working with Lisa eased her worries about handing over creative control, and she now has a brand that feels exactly right for her.
Lisa’s strategy notes were full of desires for bold colours, vintage pop-art references and a love of local businesses. Working in an affluent but trendy area meant we drew lots of inspiration from brands like Oliver Bonas, Scamp & Dude and Rockett St George. Brands that are packed with colour and authenticity, that perfectly pair simplicity with personality to create an irresistible experience. We knew that The Minute Maker shared a similar ‘ideal client’ with these brands, so taking research from successful businesses in the market helped us build ideas and decisions quickly and effectively.
Lisa had no website - only instagram
Building a business on social media alone is a very risky game! You don’t own the platforms or the content, and have no control on how your work is shown and used.
While Lisa’s style feels quite clear from the Instagram posts, it lacks refinement and wasn’t quite hitting the mark.
This moodboard captures the colourful, playful look Lisa is drawn to while still feeling grown up and refined
How I rebranded Lisa’s Social Media Marketing business with the rebrand rodeo
Day 1 – Brand Strategy + Building the Visual Direction
We started The Rebrand Rodeo over Zoom with a 90 minute strategy call to dive deep into Lisa’s vision, her dreams and her business goals. I need to know EVERYTHING if I’m going to create a brand that truly resonates!
We explored her dream customers (service-based business working in the Dorking area) and intertwined those influences into a moodboard bursting with bold patterns, vibrant colours and playful imagery.
Lisa had done a lot of work on her business strategy in 2025, and was desperate for a brand that felt like the latest, greatest version of her. She was feeling dragged down by her DIY visuals, and felt that they were no longer painting her business in the light it deserved. I totally agreed, and felt like there was so much incredible and unique energy that Lisa brought to her business that I couldn’t wait to show off.
A sneak peek into the vision behind the rebrand.
Day 2 – Brand Identity Creation
On day two of The Rebrand Rodeo, Lisa’s vibrant new brand identity came to life:
A playful type-based logo with submarks and variations for flexibility
Pop art inspired custom graphics and icons
A bold colour palette inspired by the upmarket trendy brands we so aligned with
Quirky text styles and fonts that add a playful edge while remaining legible
Background patterns that add texture and vibrance to simple designs
Immediately, Lisa could see the pop-art influences along with the middle-class influences of her audience. The new branding felt playful yet refined, and already we could see how beautifully it would translate to both social media and her new website.
Vibrant patterns, groovy graphics and playful type build a brand that screams business made fun.
Day 3 – Squarespace Website Creation + Homepage Design
Before our work together, Lisa didn’t even have a website for The Minute Maker! She’d dabbled in a DIY GoDaddy page, but hated the look and feel of it so much she had been running her business completely without it. This meant we had quite a lot of work to do with content for the website, but as I provide all of my clients with an easy to fill out website content form, this was easy enough to get set up in advance.
Squarespace is such a wonderful platform that not only allows me to create gorgeous, well-styled pages for my clients, but also gives them the freedom of easy edits and updates. Of course, I’m always on hand for support, but I think it’s important that my small-business-owner clients feel empowered to make simple changes themselves so they can work at their best.
Day 4 – Final Website Pages + Handover
After finalising the rest of the pages, we refined the flow, ensured her service sales pages were tight and well optimised and made sure the website as a whole:
Shows off Lisa’s unique personality and approach to her work
Was SEO optimised for small businesses in Dorking, Surrey
Acted as a great sales brochure for The Minute Maker
Made it easy for existing customers to refer her and new customers to enquire
This rebrand was all about embracing Lisa’s playful side and unleashing it within her branding in a refined, upmarket way
Since we launched?
Lisa has been sharing gorgeous new content on social media which she creates with ease thanks to her social media templates. Her new website went live really quickly and is already bringing in new traffic and helping her existing clients to recommend her services on. And most importantly of all, Lisa feels aligned with her branding for the first time ever and is actually enjoying marketing her business. She feels reflected in the work and is proud to share her business, knowing it’s a great reflection of her and the way her business works. Doesn’t get better than that!
"I was so buzzed when I found Howdy Naomi on Instagram and knew before even speaking to her that she was the wing-woman for me! Working with her on The Minute Maker rebrand was such a brilliant experience.
She took my slightly messy, half-formed ideas and turned them into something that feels completely clear, confident and so ME! I wanted a brand that would stand out and feel full of personality, and even though words are my work, do some of the talking for me. And that’s exactly what Naomi delivered.
Everything she created - the colours, the patterns, the tone - reflects everything that I’m about. Bold, helpful, creative… and just a little bit cheeky. It’s everything I wanted but couldn’t quite describe until she showed me.
Naomi made the whole process easy and collaborative, and I’m so proud to share the final result. The branding and website have made me so excited about my business again – it’s a real reflection of me, and that’s just what I wanted.
Naomi, you’re a superstar – thank you for giving me a brand that turns the volume UP. ❤️🩷💚" - Lisa Clancey, The Minute Maker
